Willard Mill Apartments

St. Albans, Vermont

Working with Housing Vermont and Champlain Housing Trust, Arnold & Scangas Architects designed the renovation of the historic Willard Mill. Built in 1886, the building is located at the edge of downtown St. Albans and has been home to several local manufacturing companies over the years. The renovated building houses 27 units of affordable one, two and three bedroom apartment units. The project team worked to restore many of the historic features of the building including the 1940’s lobby vestibule and entry stair. This historic renovation meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation and the Historic Reinvestment Tax Credits program.
