The Town of Colchester presently houses both the Town Offices and Police Department in one building. The present town offices are overcrowded and inadequate. After evaluating their present space conditions and their future space requirements, Arnold & Scangas Architects developed a conceptual design for a new Town Offices facility to be located to the west of the existing building. The new Municipal Office Building will provide easy visitor access to the different Town departments. The new Public Safety Facility will be housed in the renovated facility of the existing building. The Public Safety Facility includes public spaces and meeting rooms, as well as trooper offices, emergency operations, and holding facilities. Construction is scheduled to begin construction in Summer 2007.
